I’m gonna be watching TV at 1pm EST today with a sliver of hope that everyone is premature on Sakic’s retirement. The fact remains that Sakic will almost definitely retire and it will be just another blow to the Avs faithful.
When the dust settles this will be a sad day for all of hockey and sports. Sakic was possibly the classiest professional player to ever play at the caliber he played and will end up as one of the best hockey players of all time.

I have so many random thoughts on this game.
- That arena was loud. Having three of the best players in the world on the ice at the same time helps, I guess.
- The second I noticed that slow dribbler was headed towards Ovechkin, wide open on a power play, I knew the puck was going in. WHY DO I NEVER GET TO HAVE THAT FEELING FOR PLAYERS OF MY FAVORITE TEAMS?!?!?!?
- Oh, and then it was like “there’s gonna be a hat trick tonight, I can feel it.”
- And then there were two hat tricks.

This was a pretty great game, although the Caps got lazy allowing Crosby’s third goal. I think the Caps will win in 6. And that sea of red looks like so much fun to be in.
The best anual event in all sports starts tonight. I’m completely psyched to watch it all. My only sadness is that I can’t watch Ovie and the Caps in the first round.
Wide World of Sports finally got around to showing a segment about Ultimate Frisbee that they filmed at the National Champs in Coffs Harbour. It’s a pretty decent intro to the game and my team, Fyshwick United, gets a fair bit of screen time (we’re in the orange shirts).
I’ve been playing Ultimate off and on for about 8 years now, never more then just tossing with friends. The hammer is my favorite throw, I got pretty accurate with it over long distances.
While I wouldn’t expect any fights from Laroque a lot of the things mentioned are very true. Hockey really is an incredible sport and this series should be great in its own right. Even if you’ve never been into hockey give this a real watch. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
The agony. John Terry slipped with his plant foot and shanked the potential game winning penalty kick off the post. Opening the door for the eventual Man U victory. I am a fan of this great player and captain. I also feel for him, as there is no lower feeling than the one in his stomach right now…
The Russians really need to feel ashamed for this, they were chosen to host and the field had one of the worst surfaces I’ve ever seen. At least if you have a beat up field you know where the rough spots are, with this field, since the grass hadnt rooted yet, any area could be unstable and no matter how big your cleat spikes are you cant get any traction.
Tonight, Alex Ovechkin, the best hockey player in the world, is playing his first playoff game. It’s nationally televised and I’d suggest everyone to watch it. This guy lead the league in goals, points, and was top 10 in hits. He’s tons of fun to watch.
