strings of my
incoherence
I'm Tal Atlas. I'm currently finishing up my masters in microelectronic materials after getting a Physics BS at Colorado School of Mines. I'm a hobbyist photographer and Rails programmer. This is a collection of random things I find intresting from across the web.

All posts tagged flying.

Only two things have made flying safer [since 9/11]: the reinforcement of cockpit doors, and the fact that passengers know now to resist hijackers.

Australian’s survival a ‘miracle’
Australian singer Emma Cowan (second from left), survied the Airbus crash into the Hudson. Her family, staunch Christians, say it was the hand of God that saved their daughter. That would be  the same hand that stuffed the birds into the engines?
BTW, is that guy in the water actually delivering pizza?

This was all an elaborate PR stunt by Pizza Hut to advertise their new all-natural pizza and their new box

This is why I’m scared of flying.

This is why I’m confident in flying. How many people died in the first two plane crashes since 2006? 0

There really should be a height limit on exit rows

At 6’3” I’m just at the edge of being unable to sit in normal seats. It really pissesme off to see old ladies sitting in the exit row being unable to lift the door if their life depended on it and being unable to touch the back of the seat in front of them while people who are taller then me squeese into economy seats.

United is starting to offer ipod docks on their international flights. They will even be able to play video though the built in screens.

This is exactly why the entire industry needs to settle on a standard. Or at the very least apple needs to open their dock standard to anyone.
