Some cold comfort:
While Sen. Barack Obama’s late grandmother Madelyn Dunham will not live to see the outcome of this historic election, her 2008 vote will count.
Hawaii Chief Elections Officer Kevin Cronin told ABC News this evening that the absentee ballot cast by Dunham before she passed away will count.
What did liberals do that was so offensive to the Republican Party? I’ll tell you what they did. Liberals got women the right to vote. Liberals got African-Americans the right to vote. Liberals created Social Security and lifted millions of elderly people out of poverty. Liberals ended segregation. Liberals passed the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act. Liberals created Medicare. Liberals passed the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act. What did Conservatives do? They opposed them on every one of those things, every one. So when you try to hurl that label at my feet, ‘Liberal,’ as if it were something to be ashamed of, something dirty, something to run away from, it won’t work, because I will pick up that label and I will wear it as a badge of honor.
[Obama’s] got a good chance ‘cause he’s Kenyan. And you can’t beat a Kenyan at a race.
“John McCain and Sarah Palin they call this socialistic,” Obama continued. “You know I don’t know when, when they decided they wanted to make a virtue out of selfishness.”Obama just lost the Ayn Rand vote.
The Ayn Rand crowd doesn’t vote, since one vote doesn’t count it’s not in their self interest to waste time voting in the first place.
Best reason yet to vote (you know, besides the whole civic duty, make a difference business).
