A perfect example of why DRM is terrible. I WANT to purchase Dr. Horrible’s sing along blog to support this type of production in the future. However I hate iTunes as a movie player and even if I didn’t I’d still want to be able to play them on any player I so chose. Namely an aTV competitor.

I think free has been very important for a long time… acknowledge what the marketplace is already showing us: free exists whether you want to acknowledge it or not. Let’s acknowledge that, use it and do something with it.

EMI says DRM-free music is selling well

EMI’s senior VP Lauren Berkowitz reports that sales of the label’s digital music sales have seen a spike in sales after going DRM-free through iTunes a few weeks ago. If EMI can maintain that increase in sales, the other major labels may follow sooner than later.
