Tumblr’s “about” page is a total sausagefest. Where are the girls? To be honest, I feel this way about 99% of social media. Seems like women are a huge percentage of the users, but rarely ever involved in coming up with the ideas or doing the techy stuff in the background. Why is that?
From my experience at school the technical degrees only have about 5-10% of women in them. I’m betting that tumblr and many other companies are hireing the best people available regardless of sex. It’s just that, statistically, there’s more men that are very good then women due to the mere fact that there are more men in the field then women.
