War, Inc. is what I thought was a spiritual successor to Grosse Point Blank, all the same actors are involved and Cusack is an assassin. What I got was a poor attempt at a Mel Brooks type film. It’s an over the top comedy that tries to take political jabs at the war, media, government, etc.
While I admit I only watched about 1/4th of the movie I found the satire to be uninteresting and unoriginal. Regardless if this was actually made by Mel Brooks it’d probably be a lot better. I feel as though it fell just short of what it was reaching for. On the other hand it may just be that a Mel Brooksian comedy doesn’t have a place in today’s film world.
