Crimes committed by Ferris Bueller during his Day... →
peterwknox:

A list of crimes committed by Ferris Bueller along with each crime’s corresponding entry in the Illinois State, County or Municipal penal code.
Because this is the most pressing question of the day.

Advice for potential interns continued.
jackieheartsb:
DO NOT send me your resume in .docx format or I will most CERTAINLY delete it without even reading it.
Why is this?
Because it’s Windows Vista.
And Vista sucks!
Save it as .doc!
.docx isn’t Windows Vista, it’s Office 2007 which pretty much everyone agrees was a big improvement to Office 2003. docx specifically is the new, open, document standard office is...

Bad Burn →
Thanks to mills and un for their fast responses.
Sounds like it’s nothing worse then a bad burn that will probably peel. I just didn’t want it to turn out to be something I should have had looked at.
You always forget to put on sunscreen when it’s cold out.
On another note, I completely forgot about the answers feature for this post :P

I’m the most jumpy person ever…. my own shadow could startle me, I swear
Despite my size I can actually be the same way :(
I’m not scared of walking though the city at night but can be jumpy in safe environments.

I think I’m gonna have to start unfollowing some people. Thirty pages a day is a little much for me to keep up on.

Going skiing tomorrow
Funny that it’s the last day of the ski season after we have a huge dump which put 18” in Denver and probably much more in the mountains.

EW - Fox set to terminate 'Sarah Connor... →
danhacker:
Not really surprised about this, but it still is a bit tragic since ‘The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ was such an underrated show that never found its audience.
This is really sad, the show got extremely good in the last season. I do admit that season finale did kinda come out of nowhere.

FriendFeed Is In Danger Of Becoming The Coolest... →
This is the title of a techcrunch article on friendfeed which I find very apt. Friendfeed is probably the coolest social network app out there. It has the best features while maintaining a simple interface, allows for management of your followers, and is constantly improving itself.
But it sufferers from the Achilles heal of a social network. Nobody uses it. Friendfeed is where facebook should...

It's Stanley Cup playoff time!!!
The best anual event in all sports starts tonight. I’m completely psyched to watch it all. My only sadness is that I can’t watch Ovie and the Caps in the first round.

I don't get the outrage over the digg bar
I understand people having issues with a company doing something only for page views especially if it hurts either the consumer or the site you’re framing. What I fail to see is how this hurts. I do see how it helps though.
The digg bar provides digg users the ability to follow links while maintaining the digg features. I haven’t used digg in a while but being able to digg the link...

Changing Firefox Gestures
Firefox 3.1 beta 2 brought with it a nice new feature: support for multitouch gestures (the ones available from the new unibody trackpad). Some of these features are awesome, swipe to go forward/back and rotate to change tabs, the others are more annoying than helpful.
It turns out there is a simple way to change these gestures. If you steer your browser to about:config and filter for the word...

Multitouch Track Pad
I was wondering if anyone knew of any software to override or add to the gestures available using the multitouch track pad on the new unibody macs?

Evolution Is Religion, Not Science →
hilker:
davereed:
“The idea of particles-to-people evolution does not meet the criteria of a scientific theory. There are no evolutionary transitions that have ever been observed, either during human history or in the fossil record of the past… The fact is that evolutionists believe in evolution because they want to. It is their desire to explain the origin of everything without a Creator....

Kindle Wish List
marc:
Having used my new Kindle 2 for a few weeks now, I adore it more than ever and still feel it’s a significant improvement over my beloved Kindle 1. But, nothing is perfect, and there are still improvements I’d love to see with the Kindle. Some of these were suggestions I made earlier when I was using my Kindle 1:
The Slide Switch. The slide switch on the top edge of the Kindle 2 is too...
